Caretaker manager Lee Carsley has revealed his squad for England’s Nations League matches.
Striker Dominic Solanke, Tottenham’s star recruit in the off-season, was called up to the England team on Thursday for the first time since his only selection in 2017, with a view to the Nations League matches in October. The 27-year-old center forward has scored three goals in six games with the «Spurs» since his recruitment against around 75 million euros from Bournemouth, according to the estimate of the English media.
“He has a lot of qualities that I really like, in addition to being a very nice person. He is extremely talented”commented interim coach Lee Carsley at a press conference.

Solanke will compete with captain Harry Kane and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins for matches against Greece on October 10 at Wembley, then in Helsinki on October 13 against Finland. Carsley recalled Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Phil Foden as expected, all of whom were forced to withdraw in September. At the previous meeting, the English beat the Republic of Ireland and Finland 2-0 in their Nations League group, where they play in the second division.
Defender Kyle Walker makes his return after regaining significant playing time with Manchester City. This is not the case, however, for Harry Maguire, experienced Manchester United center back. Lille midfielder Angel Gomes retains his place, as does Nottingham Forest attacking leader Morgan Gibbs-White, also 24 years old.
