Red Bull has made a specialty of producing videos featuring different types of vehicles. This is how in the one that interests us, a Formula 1 driver faces off against dirt and snow sports specialists.
When it’s not the drivers of the Formula 1 team, Red Bull features other drivers who wear its colors. The brand thus brought together for the occasion: Patrick Friesacher and his Formula 1 (an RB7), Scott Speed and his rallycross Subaru WRX STI, Mad Mike and his McLaren P1 dedicated to drifting and finally, Andrew Carlson and his Trophy Truck.
All four gave themselves meet at the MSR Houston circuita track specially designed for the occasion. Indeed, in order to balance the debates, not everyone will use the circuit in its entirety, unlike Formula 1.
A Truck that does more than show up!
But before launching into the circuit, the four drivers compete in a drag race. Not surprisingly, in such situations, the rallycross car makes an excellent start. Long in the lead, she was caught on the edge by Formula 1.
Then comes the time to recognize the different routes, dedicated to each discipline. The pilots set off one after the other. They then try to get the best out of their machine, while dealing with particular track conditions. To everyone’s surprise, the Trophy Truck finished first, ahead of Formula 1 and the rallycross car.
