Manchester City player arrested after cell phone stolen from nightclub

LE SCAN SPORT – Matheus Nunes was arrested in a nightclub for snatching the cell phone of a man who took a photo of him.

Almost a month after the events, the Spanish daily The World reveals this Wednesday that Manchester City player Matheus Nunes was arrested in a nightclub in Madrid on September 8. The midfielder even ended the evening in prison. The reason? He is accused of stealing the phone of a person who was taking a photo of him in the nightclub toilets. A complaint for theft was indeed filed against him, the player only remained locked up at the Arganzuela police station in Madrid for a few hours before being released on bail.

The police report reveals that the events took place around 5:30 a.m. in the nightclub The Riviera. The player snatched the phone from a 58-year-old man in the toilet. Some witnesses state that the victim tried to take a photo of the player inside the bathroom without his knowledge, so in anger Nunes took the cell phone and refused to give it back.

Matheus Nunes handcuffed

When the police arrived, the annoyed and defiant Portuguese international was handcuffed by the police before being taken to the police station. The player was in Madrid with friends during the international break. The Portuguese was not selected by his selection.

Recruited in 2023 for 63 million euros by Manchester City from Wolverhampton, Nunes has never managed to establish himself with the Skyblues where he is a rotation player (31 matches played last season). This season, the player has played six matches, including two starts.
