. When an amateur cyclist breaks a Nibali record on Strava

It’s a performance that never goes unnoticed. In recent days, a 29-year-old amateur cyclist has been making waves in the world of following one of his outings recorded on the Strava application (which allows performances to be recorded). Indeed, on November 16, Jack Burke broke the Strava KOM (King of the Mountain) record on the segment of the Italian Col du Mortirolo (11.85 km at 10.8%), in 43'45''.

A record previously held by a certain Vincenzo Nibali who had a time of 44'52'' set during the Giro in 2019.

With this performance, the latter hopes to land a professional contract: “I don’t know what more I can do, I did everything I could. I just want my chance! A chance to compete against the best guys in the world,” he said on his Instagram account.

The one who has already raced at the Continental level (3rd division) for teams in North America, Luxembourg and Austria does not intend to stop there, since he declared that he has the record for the legendary Stelvio pass. What he intends to prove by sharing his journey on the Strava application in the days to come.
