He did it! For his first year among juniors, Soren Bruyère-Joumard has just won the general classification of the Junior World Cup. On the French list of winners, he succeeds Léo Bisiaux, winner in 2023. A real feat for someone who takes the races one after the other without ever putting pressure on himself.

Surprise winner for his world discovery during the first round in Dublin (Ireland), then tenth in Hulst (Netherlands) and Zonhoven (Belgium), the Fontainois won the French round in Besançon before taking second place in Benidorm (Spain) and the fourth in Hoogerheide (Netherlands) this Sunday.

A result sufficient to win the general classification since his direct opponents, the Belgian Giel Lejeune and the Italian Mattia Agostinacchi, took 13 and 19 place on a very muddy and technical circuit.

“I’m very happy even if it wasn’t a goal”

“I’m obviously very happy even if this jersey wasn’t a goal at the start of the season. This demonstrates my consistency in world events. I got off to a very good start but I stalled a little afterwards, perhaps because of the intensities experienced this week in training. Fortunately I found a second wind to get this beautiful place and keep the jersey. It's really great but the goal was to prepare for the Worlds on Sunday in Liévin. In front of our audience it will be huge,” said the World Cup winner, moved and sharing this joy with his father who had made the long trip.

Sunday, the world championship will be the last race of this very long season. Soren Bruyère-Joumard will not be the favorite of the event but one of those who can wear the rainbow jersey. One last challenge!
