After great success in China, it is Mexico's turn to host the Tour of Spain for the first time in Latin America with an exciting cycling challenge: Mexico Challenge by La Vuelta ! Like the famous cyclo-sportive L'Stage of the Tour de fans of all levels will be able to taste the very essence of one of the three biggest cycling competitions in the world. Participants will have the chance to ride on a course carefully designed to allow them to live the same experiences as the great racing champions. They will also have the opportunity to ride alongside some of them. Legends such asAlberto Contador, Fabio Aru, Oscar Freire, Nicolas Roche, Annemiek van Vleuten et Lisa Brennauer have already taken part in these challenges.

A growing Mexican influence over the years

The last Mexican runner to finish the Tour of Spain is none other than the nugget of training UAE Team Emirates-XRG, Isaac Del Toroin 2024. Felipe Enriquez Rojas was a pioneer in 1988. Furthermore, the best Mexican cyclist of all time, Raul Alcalafinished 7th in the Tour of Spain in 1991 and 8th in 1992. Two other Mexicans have competed in the Spanish Grand Tour: Miguel Arroyoin 1992 and 1995, and Julio Alberto Pérez Cuapioin 2001. The creation of Mexico Challenge by La Vuelta is historic, because it is the first time that an official Tour of Spain event has taken place on the American continent.
