Whereas previously the trade-in of a smartphone was done for the purchase of a new Galaxy model, Samsung's trade-in service now removes this obligation. Therefore, it is possible to simply resell your cell phone to Samsung and obtain its redemption value.
Jun Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Galaxy Value Innovation Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, values this new trade-in program as an ideal solution for customers to “benefit from the market value of their devices and the ability to exchange them safely through secure transactions”.
For the moment, Samsung has not specified which models are included in its new Galaxy Trade-in program. However, she gave the list of models that can be purchased this way on the South Korean market:
- Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23 et S24
- Galaxy S20+, S21+, S22+, S23+ et S24+
- Galaxy S20 Ultra, S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra et S24 Ultra
- Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Fold 4 et Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4 et Z Flip 5
It now remains to be seen which Galaxy models will be affected for the French market. In its press release, Samsung also specifies that the list of admitted models “may vary by country”.
