Clément Vandekerkhove rides for a French club, but lives in Mouzaive. After a promising winter in cyclocross, the Vressois rider will try to confirm on the road with the cadets.
Clément Vandekerkhove has just swapped his cyclocross bike for a road bike. The plowing season is over for the Vressois, time to prepare for the next road season, as a second year cadet.

After playing football for a few years in Bouillon then in Sedan until U15, Clément turned to cycling a little over two years ago. The young 15-year-old rider lives in Mouzaive, on the banks of the Semois, and rides for the Entente Cyclisme Villers-Semeuse Boulzicourt, a neighboring club in the French Ardennes:
As my dad works in France, we thought it would be easier to ride for a neighboring French club to start cycling. This is a small team. I'm going to compete again this season in this team with the hope of riding for a bigger structure next year.

A successful cyclocross season
His beginnings in cycling are quite promising. Clément Vandekerkhove even seems to have reached a level this winter in cyclocross: seven victories on the clock in regional races in France, and a 42nd place during a Coupe de France round in Troyes. A not so anecdotal result since the Vressois brought back nearly a hundred runners during this event. In a few months, Clément will have to confirm this, on the road this time for his second season with the cadets.
