Météo France services have placed Corsica on yellow “rain-flood” alert from this Saturday in the middle of the day. Corsica-du-Sud will also be at the same alert level for the “waves-submersion” parameter.

Météo France has in fact activated a yellow vigilance “meteorological situation to monitor” for the “rain-flood” parameter across the entire island. It will be effective from 1 p.m.
This Saturday, “the weather is disturbed with frequent locally stormy showers in the eastern part, giving significant accumulations”indicate the forecasters, specifying that the alert will continue until this Sunday at 6 p.m. minimum.
-Before that, a first “wave-submersion” alert will come into effect during the night from Friday to Saturday from 3 a.m.
It only concerns South Corsica where the eastern facade, between Bonifacio and Solenzara, should be swept by strong swells and gusts of wind which could reach 70 km/h according to forecasts. This vigilance should end this Saturday at 2 p.m.
An alert for the “avalanche” parameter is also already in effect on the various massifs of the island where snow has fallen in abundance over the past 48 hours.
