Aid of 2,750 euros paid by CAF for… cycling lessons!

This Thursday, January 9, a paper from The Republican East returned to an event that occurred in . The facts: on Wednesday January 8, seven women were received in Montbéliard, in the premises of the sub-prefecture, to be honored, because, over the past months, they learned to ride a bicycle. A feat such that it was impossible to do without a party in the presence of an audience of officials.

Although it is already astonishing that public money is used for such demonstrations, that is not the worst part of this story. The best is yet to come. Imagine that to meet this challenge, the seven women, equipped with their Islamic outfits, were helped by the CAF du Doubs which paid them the sum of 2,750 euros. This money made it possible to finance five one-hour sessions so that they learned to travel by bicycle. A highly vital need!

Unnecessary help…

Let’s not cry foul too soon. This generous sum did not fall from the sky by chance. They deserved it! The Republican East specifies this by reporting the words of Aurélie Vrignaud Kakudji, the director of the MJC Saint-Exupéry social center and member of the jury which awarded them this endowment: “ They presented themselves to the CAF du Doubs, during the ID Habitants juries and they obtained the sum allowing them to finance their great objective. »

What is this help called ID Habitants? Difficult to know. The internal social action regulations of the Doubs Family Allowance Fund only give two indications, vague to say the least. In the box “ Amount and payment “, it is indicated: ” To be defined with regard to the project and co-financing possibilities. Self-financing actions are required. » In the one titled “ Implementation arrangements “, it is not clearer: ” The projects presented by residents during the jury must help support the commitment and initiatives of residents in the areas of solidarity, citizenship and local activity. » In what category were the cycling lessons classified? Mystery and gumball.

Same thing for the definition of the amount of aid. How was the jury able to arrive at the sum of 2,750 euros, or almost 80 euros per hour of cycling per person? This, while everywhere in there are free courses or less than 6 euros per session.

… et excessive

Unable to satisfy ourselves with these very few elements of response, we tried to contact the CAF to find out more. Our questions remained unanswered. We will not know why the Family Allowance Fund is squandering French people’s money in this way. What we do know, however, is that this is not about to stop. Our colleague ends his article by rejoicing to see “ a second promotion of seven other women » soon in the saddle.

You will tell me that when a country accumulates more than 3,200 billion in debt, we are no longer within 2,700 euros. Though. Sometimes small streams of this kind end up explaining the less and less calm river of our abysmal debt.
