This Sunday morning, Lison Desprez did not wake up on the right foot before the final round of the Coupe de France at La Ferté-Bernard. “I wasn't feeling well, my throat was sore… When I was on the home trainer, it wasn't okay either. I told myself that I would do with the form of the day“confided to the microphone of DirectVelo the 17-year-old athlete.
But ultimately, the member of VC Evron Coëtmieux regained momentum once in the race. “The form was absolutely there in fact. I was really happy.” She never left the top three positions throughout the event. After a nice battle with Lise Revol, she finally had to lose to the AS Bike Racing resident. “The one who took the lead over the mounds and the boards was going to win. I didn't finish far, it was a close call. Victory was possible but Lise was really strong and I’m happy for her.”
In the end, Lise Revol also took first place in the final ranking of the Coupe de France in the Junior Women category (see here). “I'm a little disappointed to lose the general classification, it's a matter of two points. But it's good to be 2nd. Plus, I won three rounds. It gives me a lot of confidence for the future.” With the next rounds of the World Cup in Hulst, Zonhoven and Besançon coming up, especially since the Breton finished 2nd in the first act in Dublin at the beginning of the month (read here).
