Training Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale organized its official presentation for the 2025 season this Monday in Lille. During this full-scale meeting at the Decathlon Arena, with all the managers, riders and staff, the new jersey and the new bike Van Rysel were revealed, as was the entire squad for 2025. Among them, Cyclism’Actu was able to speak with Nans Peters. The Grenoblois experienced a mixed 2024 season, with good results, but without ever giving up. Stage winner on the Giro and the Tour de France, Peters hopes to return to victory in 2025.

Nans Peters: “I would like to get back to winning ways”
After a historic year 2024 for Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale training, is there even more pressure than in previous years?
We are confident, 2024 has proven to us that we are capable of doing such things. With everything that has been put in place around it, particularly the partners, we hope to continue this momentum.
Do you know your program for this future season?
Not at all, we will know our program during the pre-season camp that we are going to do in Spain. This course is an important event, because in addition to covering miles, it allows us to spend time with the staff and learn more about our season.
The headquarters of your main sponsor Decathlon is located in Lille, which is also the host city for the start of the next Tour de France. Does that make you want to be at the start of this race which will be special for your team?
Personally, I don't think I'll be at the start of the next Tour. But it’s definitely going to be a huge event. When you're a French team on the Tour de France, it's already super important, so starting in Lille with a Decathlon jersey on your back will be even more beautiful.
You are one of the oldest in the team, how do you see its evolution?
I will be entering my ninth season with the team. There has been great progress from year to year, particularly since the arrival of Decathlon and Van Rysel. The goal is always to aim higher and win as many races as possible. We leave in 2025 with the knife between our teeth to do as well, or even better!
Many have been worried in recent months about the state of French Cycling, while your team has a veritable armada of very good riders, so you don't have the same observation?
It's true that we're lucky, the fact of having a sponsor in contract with the structure until 2028 brings peace of mind and a certain sustainability, particularly in terms of the reliability of the team.
Will you still be with the team until 2028?
My contract ends at the end of 2025. I hope to extend it again!
Finally, what are your goals for this next season?
I would like to find the path to victory, which I missed during the previous season. I always train for this.
