Cycling. Stronger than Sepp Kuss and Romain Bardet, amateur Jack Burke breaks the record for the ascent of Alpe d'Huez
A few days earlier, on November 11, the Canadian native of Toronto had already broken a record, in the Alps. In the 21 bends of L'Alpe d'Huez, Jack Burke did better than Sepp Kuss (the American winner of the 2023 Tour of Spain) or even Romain Bardet. Indeed, he climbed to the summit of Alpe d'Huez in 35'56'', nine seconds better than the Visma Lease a Bike rider, a time achieved during the 12th stage of the Tour de France 2022.
“I did everything I could and that’s something I can be proud of. I'm still trying to chase my dream. I just want a chance to fight with the best,” commented Jack Burke on Strava, who dreams of joining professional training.
