The Gourdon Cycling club is proud to announce very good results for the month of November in cyclo-cross.
Cyclo-cross is a cycling discipline practiced in the fall and winter. The circuit is made up of paths, meadows, even sand and a bit of road. Obstacles are placed on the circuit to force participants to dismount and carry the bike. The length of the event is calculated according to the time of the race, from 20 minutes for the youth categories to 1 hour for the elite. The number of laps is determined by the commissioners based on the time needed for participants to complete the first two laps. “The bikes are reinforced and equipped with studded tires and cleated brakes to let the mud through,” explains Pascal Vilard.
The latter announces with pleasure the results obtained by his acolytes during the last tests.
Patrick Tardieu, in 4th category, took 1st place in Castelnau-Lachapelle (Dordogne), 3rd in Gourdon and 3rd in Gignac.
Lucas Frayssinet finished 1st in Gignac and 4th in Gourdon. Jules Valette ranks 2nd in Gignac and 3rd in Gourdon. As for Raphaël Valette, he obtained 4th place in Gignac.
