“No excuses” for Léo Bisiaux – News

Two times three for Léo Bisiaux. In , for its return weekend, the count is good for the Auvergne, who wanted to return to competition before the first round of the World Cup in Dublin, Ireland. Delayed at the breakdown station Saturday (read here), this time he experienced a mechanical problem. “I had a decent start, I was between 5 and 10. On a small descent, I had a collision with a rider who hit me in the derailleur. It blocked my derailleur. I had to stop and try to find the solution. I wasted a little time”he explained just after the race for DirectVelo. Once set off again, Espoir 2 quickly felt “good feelings”better than the day before.

“I was better, the first race of the weekend really opened me up”. Thus, Léo Bisiaux found what he had come to look for in Aube. “It was a good circuit to continue working on technique. It was drier, we could angle the turns. I am happy with the sensations”. And even if the raw result was not his priority, he of course fought until the end to do the best (see ranking). “I tried to ride as quickly as possible after my incident. It wasn't too bad. I didn't really know where I was in terms of places. This weekend, I didn't have too many results objectives, I mainly wanted to get back into rhythm”.

THE LIÉVIN WORLD FIRST

Twice, the long-awaited duel between the two friends of Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale could not really take place, and Aubin Sparfel easily won on Saturday and Sunday. “Problems in cyclocross are part of the game. There are no excuses. It's also up to me to be more careful in traffic. We will have to sort out a few things this week with the French team to arrive at 100% in Dublin”confides the former World, European and French Junior Champion of the discipline.

His results for the weekend therefore remain satisfactory. “It’s pretty good. I didn't arrive in great spirits but ultimately, it was okay. I was able to resume without pressure, not far from home. There wasn't too much fatigue. It will be lighter this week. I want to be ready for Dublin, it will be the first meeting where I will have to be 100%”. With what ambitions for the 4th in the U23 World Cup last January in his first attempt? “There will be a lot of tough guys there. There has been no confrontation yet, we will have to see who is at the start. Not everyone has picked up yet”he analyzes, cautiously. “The World Cup rankings can be interesting, obviously. It will be important for the World Cup, you have to be in the top eight to be on the front line. But it will be race by race this season, to be 100% at the Liévin World Cup, which will be the priority”.
