Our colleague Daniel Benson announced that the team Astana Kazakhstan Team will collaborate next year with the former professional runner Alex Dowsettas a performance engineer. With the 36-year-old Briton, who ends his career at the end of 2022, the Kazakh team hopes to exploit his expertise to progress in crucial areas like aerodynamics and various other marginal gains. In great difficulty and in the midst of a fight to avoid relegation from WorldTour next year, the recently retired team Mark Cavendish is doing all it can to get back to the top, recruiting no less than 12 new riders for the 2025 season, including Alberto Bettiol, Wout Poelsor Clement Champoussin.

Alex Dowsett was part of the peloton for 11 seasons, and was mainly known as a time trial specialist. He was six times national champion in this discipline, and also won two stages of the Giro. Recognized as an expert in aerodynamics, he made several attempts to break the hour record. Note that the Briton was recommended to the Kazakh team last year by his compatriot Mark Cavendish. During the 2024 season, Dowsett had already assisted the teamAlexandre Vinokourov per period. This time he will work full time next year.
