We will have to wait a little longer before seeing Wout van Aert in the plowed fields this winter. After ending his year on the road prematurely following his fall on The Returnthe Belgian is taking his time to start his cyclo-cross season, with an estimated resumption date of the end of December at the earliest. This is what was confided to The Newspaper this Saturday Jan Bovenhis team leader at Visma | Lease a Bike. “Wout is now heading to Spain for two and a half weeks to train. After that we will see together, but it will only resume after the Visma team training camp which ends on December 19“, he indicated.

Hulst, Zonhoven… what race for its recovery?
Last year, Van Aert had made his return to cyclo-cross on December 9. “This period was also an option for this year, but there are only the World Cup matches in Dublin (December 1, editor's note) and Sardinia (December 8). These are long trips for a recovery race“, justified himself Jan Boven. We therefore do not yet know on which event WVA will officially return. After December 19, the World Cup stopped at Hulst (December 21) then Zonhoven (December 22), while the Zilvermeercross de Mol will take place on December 23. It also remains to know how many crosses Van Aert will be carried out this winter.
