Alex Baudin is leaving Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale, he will wear the colors of EF Education-Easy Post from next season. He joins Richard Carapaz and Ben Healy among others.

Impressive, and surprising too, Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale ended the year 2024 with thirty victories. So many performances giving the French team 6th place in the world. Requalified by his team which had suspended him for more than six months in 2023 due to his use of Tramadol – a synthetic opiate banned but not considered doping by the International Cyclist Union at the time of the facts – Alex Baudin largely contributed to this crazy season. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old runner decided to change scenery because he committed to EF Education-Easy Post.

Baudin will team up with Healy and Carapaz

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do and I think now is the right time to do it. It's really important to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people, new cultures, new things. That's what I love in life. This is why I wanted to join EF Education-EasyPost. I'm still young and I'm really, really enthusiastic,” said the main person involved. Within the American team he will now team up with great runners such as Ben Healy, Richard Carapaz and Neilson Powless.

From a personal point of view, Alex Baudin won the Tour du Limousin in 2024 where he also won a stage victory. At the Giro, a year after his sidelining, he took great revenge by taking 4th place in the first stage between Venaria Reale and Turin and 21st overall. More recently in October, he placed 3rd in a stage and overall in the Tour of Guanxi in China.
