The International Union is reforming participation in its Track Nations Cup, from January 1, 2025.

First change: UCI track sports groups will no longer be able to participate. Until this year, the five best teams in the UCI ranking in a discipline could compete in the Nations Cup. There is no longer a UCI ranking for the Track Teams and they will therefore no longer be in the Nations Cup. Only national teams will be able to participate.

Second change: With the new UCI track rankings, riders will have to have at least 500 points in the ranking corresponding to the discipline, to be able to participate in individual events. For the American, each rider must have at least 250 points in the UCI American ranking.

Third change: The first four of the last Junior World Championships in peloton races, speed and keirin will be able to participate without counting 500 points.

Fourth change: There are no longer participation quotas (for example two runners in individual speed and one runner in Omnium). Nations will therefore be able to enter the number of runners they wish (and whose travel they can pay for).

With this latest change, qualifying rounds are likely to be more numerous in the Nations Cup round program.
