As part of the Greenways Festival, organized nationally by the AF3V, the Heritage Days and the European Mobility Week, three associations are organizing a free bike ride on the Youtar on Sunday, September 22. This greenway, inaugurated in June 2024, has been developed for cyclists and pedestrians on the circuit of the old railway line of the same name, which is now part of the industrial heritage.

Éric Brouwer, from Kernavélo, , and his partners, Olivier Hébert, from the association On y est, a collective action network in Pont-, and Claude Marchalot, facilitator of the SOS Biclou pole within Côte Waste, in Mahalon, will act as Youtar guides for the occasion.

A stroll punctuated by informative stages

The meeting is set for 9:30 a.m., Place du Général-de-Gaulle, in Audierne, “time to register and check the condition of the bikes,” specify the organizers, then departure at 10 a.m. for a 12 km ride. The finish will be at Pors Peron, in Beuzec-Cap-Sizun. On site, a picnic (taken from each person’s backpack) will be shared. The return is planned for around 4 p.m., passing through the bottom of Pont-Croix, or 13 km.

“The route, which follows the old railway line, offers a difference in altitude accessible to all, adults, children and people with reduced mobility”, reassure Éric Brouwer, Olivier Hébert and Claude Marchalot.

Various stations along the route will provide information on ornithological data, the history of Youtar, the evolution of cycling over time and other surprises.
