It was a call to 911 around 8:45 p.m. that allowed the police to come to the aid of the young victim, who was discovered seriously injured on Rue Tardif, near Avenue Monty.
“He was conscious when the police arrived. He suffered from an upper body injury, possibly caused by a stab weapon,” said officer Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).
“He was transported to the hospital center, where his condition was still considered serious for a good part of the night,” said Mr. Bergeron.
-The boy’s condition finally stabilized during the morning on Saturday.
The motive for the crime remains unknown, for the moment.
“The circumstances surrounding the event remain unclear as we speak. No indication regarding the possible suspect(s). Obviously, when his health permits, our investigators will meet the young victim to determine what could have happened,” said agent Raphaël Bergeron.
The SPVM investigation continues.
