According to Elections NB, 56,739 voters exercised their right to vote on Saturday during the first day of early voting.
This is less than in 2020, when due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 132,604 people came on the first day of advance voting. In 2018, that number was 86,970.

I’m busy on the 21st and wanted to vote this year. And as I had already decided the candidate, I decided to come

To date, 13% of voters have voted, including people who sent their ballot by mail or who went to their local returning officer’s office.

Liberal and Progressive Conservative leaders Susan Holt and Blaine Higgs voted Saturday in their ridings of Fredericton South-Silverwood and Quispamsis.

The leader of the Greens, David Coon, indicated that he would wait until polling day, Monday October 21.
A second day of advance voting is planned for Tuesday. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
