Tensions between the Houthis and Israel are rising again. A missile strike claimed by the Yemeni rebels targeted the center of the Hebrew state on Sunday, September 15, where the projectile fell, according to the Israeli army, in an uninhabited area without causing any casualties.
The Houthi rebels have already launched several attacks against Israel, claiming to act in solidarity with the Palestinians, since the start of the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip triggered by the bloody Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
“A surface-to-surface missile was identified crossing central Israel from the east and then falling in an open area,” the Israeli military said, adding that “no injuries were reported.” It said the “missile was fired from Yemen” and that the explosions heard came from its missile interceptor system.
The police reported the fall of a “fragment of an interception missile” in the region of Shephelah, without causing any injuries.
Last July, the Houthis carried out a drone attack on Tel Aviv that killed one civilian.
