The French athletes who took part in the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be in Paris on Saturday, September 14, for a final parade. After Marseille, which celebrated the arrival of the Olympic flame in early May, and after the opening and closing ceremonies, it’s time for this fifth and final ceremony with the champions’ parade. Some 286 Olympic and Paralympic athletes are expected. The idea was popular, as the 70,000 free places to reserve to attend the event were snapped up in one hour on Wednesday, September 11.
For the organizers, this is the fifth and final ceremony of the JParis 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games : the athletes’ parade, an XXL party open to all. So that all French people can see and applaud, once again, those who made them dream and even cry this summer.
This parade will also be an opportunity to once again extend a big thank you to the 45,000 volunteers mobilized during the Games, as well as to all those behind the scenes players who participated in the success of Paris 2024. For the occasion, more than 4,000 police officers and gendarmes will be mobilized to secure the event.
A unique parade that will start at 2:30 p.m. (12:30 p.m. UTC) at the bottom of the famous Champs-Élysées avenue, and go up to the Arc de Triomphe where President Emmanuel Macron will be waiting to decorate them. And before the evening concert, we are promised more surprises.
