In our towns, our villages, our neighborhoods.”he said, on the eve of a major parade of Olympic and Paralympic athletes on the Champs-Elysées. The annual September 14 celebration would therefore coincide with the date of this parade.
In the same interview, Emmanuel Macron also welcomed the decision of the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, to leave the Olympic rings hanging on the Eiffel Tower, at least until the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, despite strong criticism. “It was good not to take them off right away, she was right,” he estimated.
