After visiting the headquarters of her Foundation in Girona the day before, Princess Leonor presented five prizes to young talents during a highly anticipated evening. Surrounded by her sister the Infanta Sofia as well as her parents Felipe VI and Letizia, the heiress to the throne delivered a strong and moving speech, delivered in Catalan.
The timbre of her voice reflects a certain apprehension on July 5, 2023, as she prepares to speak in the conference room of the Camiral de Caldes de Malavella hotel. But Princess Leonor knows she can once again count on the support of her family, King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia and her younger sister Infanta Sofia, all seated in the front row. Dressed in a green ensemble from the Cherubina brand, she delivers her speech almost entirely in Catalan, whereas she had only spoken a few words in this language last year.
A strong symbol that follows on from her visit, the day before, to the headquarters of the Princess of Girona Foundation, which she chairs. A Foundation established in the bastion of independence and in which the royal family is usually persona non scratched.
