On the occasion of the release of her alcohol-free sparkling on January 9, the model spoke to the microphone of Madame Figaro on his hot temperament.
It was at the Ladurée boutique nestled in the heart of the Champs-Élysées that Carla Bruni-Sarkozy spoke to the microphone of Madame Figaro. The model was there on January 9, in the middle of Dry January, to present her new drink, a non-alcoholic sparkling wine, called “L’excessive”. This sparkling wine was made in Provence on the Estoublon estate of which she is co-owner with her husband Nicolas Sarkozy. The drink has the same name as one of the artist’s songs.

A history of addiction
To the question “in what way are you excessive?”, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy answers: “In everything”. The character trait is a “kind of nature,” according to her. “We do everything in excess, even when sober.” To celebrate, there is no need to get drunk, “joy and celebration do not depend on alcohol,” continues the artist.
Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s past was full of excess. In January 2023, she spoke on the podcast microphone Counter-addictions by Rose on her relationship with sugar and alcohol. “From childhood, I had to drink, I don’t know, 30 or 40 Coca-Colas a day. I didn’t eat a normal meal, I only ate Pulmoll tablets, for example 5 boxes or three boxes of Valda and 4 cokes, that was my meal,” she said. Before addressing his drinking, “It’s not that I drank every day, it’s that I drowned myself every day.”
Habits now completely revised. In an interview with Vanity Fair published on May 29, 2024, Carla Bruni admitted to being incapable of moderation. She concluded: “I have excluded drugs from my life, and almost completely nicotine. I’m pretty much totally sober from alcohol.”
