Died Thursday January 16, David Lynch leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of his fans and his cinema friends. The day after the sad announcement made by his loved ones, directors, actors, actresses and collaborators came out of silence to honor his memory.
Starting with Steven Spielberg who remembered having David Lynch play in his film “The Fabelmans” in 2022. “I always liked David’s films. I got to know him [sur le tournage]. David Lynch played one of my heroes – it was surreal and looked like something out of one of his films. The world will miss his unique and original voice. His films have already stood the test of time, and will do so forever,” he told Variety.

Kyle MacLachlan ‘lost a friend’
For his part, actor Kyle MacLachlan, star of David Lynch’s “Dune” released in 1984 and his cult series “Twin Peaks”, wrote that his heart “felt empty since he left”: “David Lynch was an enigmatic and intuitive man, a creative ocean. 42 years ago, for reasons I still don’t understand, David Lynch plucked me from obscurity and cast me in his first and last big budget film. »

The long letter from Naomi Watts
Star of “Mulholland Drive” which propelled her even further in Hollywood, Naomi Watts shared a long letter dedicated to the deceased filmmaker. “I am heartbroken. My friend Dave… The world will never be the same without you. How could he have seen me when I was hidden, when I had lost track of myself? »

Director James Gunn wrote that David Lynch “inspired so many among us”, while Nicolas Cage (who had played for the CinéNaoaste in “Sailor and Lula”) believes he has “never had so much fun on a set as ‘working with David Lynch’, in a statement shared by ‘Deadline’.
