The scammer who scammed Anne out of several hundred thousand euros by pretending to be Brad Pitt would pretend to be another well-known actor.
The case is experiencing unprecedented media attention. Scammed by a man pretending to be Brad Pitt, Anne, a 53-year-old interior designer, paid more than 800,000 euros to a stranger. After his testimony in “Sept à Huit”, a hacker managed to track down the person who was behind the scam.
The grazer found
This is a man from Nigeria. Marwan Ouarab, founder of the site Find My Scammer, is a hacker who helps Anne to “make your grazer fall”. He managed to trace this person, including banking information and tracking of the money paid by the victim. Marwan even found the GPS coordinates of the accused's house.
“For Anne's case, we found his grazers in Nigeria. Today, he is still active, except that he now poses as Keanu Reeves”he explains to 20 Minutes.
The hacker recalls that a report was made to the Nigerian authorities, but he expresses some doubts about the latter's actions. “We don't know if they will act.”he laments.
“I just wanted to help one person”
Pretending to need money to pay for an operation for kidney cancer, the fake Brad Pitt managed to extract large sums from this woman, who is now ruined and has made three suicide attempts.
In an interview with the channel LegendAnne gives explanations and expresses her anger towards the broadcast of TF1. “In this report, the only thing we are going to remember is: Anne fell in love with a fake Brad Pitt. However, initially, I never cheated on my husband in my life because I am in makes a caring woman, I am not crazy or stupid, as some people claim, say and write on social networks.”
“I just wanted to help one person. I was fooled, I admit, and that's why I testified because I'm not the only one in this situation. Maybe not for this amount- there, but in any case I was scammed. Now you know who I am and I take responsibility for it.she says.
“I am a woman who is sensible. If you were in my place, you would be in the trap. If someone comes and talks to you kindly, says words to you that you have never heard from your own husband, eh well yes, yes, we fall into it. That’s how it happened.”justified Anne.
