The end of 2024 has not been a smooth ride for Arthur. The producer and host was in fact at the heart of a lively controversy after the publication last December by the Luxembourg feminist media The Effronteeof a montage denouncing his behavior in Take it or leave itthe game he presented on TF1 between 2004 and 2006 then between 2009 and 2010.

This montage, which created a buzz, also earned the host and producer a lot of criticism and threatening or anti-Semitic messages. And as an AFP report reveals, the main person concerned has decided to take legal action. He in fact filed a complaint last December, which prompted the opening, by the National Center for the Fight against Online Hate, of a “investigation into public insults aggravated (…) by a discriminatory motive linked to religion”. An investigation which concerns “comments posted during the online campaign against him”confirmed the public prosecutor. Arthur, whose real name is Jacques Essebag, also filed a complaint for “attack on the representation of the person by video editing”added Le Parisien/Today in Francespecifying that the host also “filed a civil suit to ask social network
Arthur’s response to the Take it or Leave it controversy
Arthur, who reinforced his security and that of his family after the numerous threats received, spoke last December in Bonjour (TF1) to discuss the evolution of society which means that “some things don’t work anymore” Today. “I’m one of the privileged few who does this job for fun, so obviously we can’t look with today’s eyes at what we did 20 years ago!
