The journalist, specialist in royalty, was the guest of “C à vous” this Wednesday evening on the occasion of the upcoming broadcast of a new episode of the series Bellefondin which he plays the main role.

A host turned actor. Stéphane Bern continues his second career. After becoming known to the general public as a journalist, he increasingly developed that of an actor. After Murders in Lorraine in 2018 or even The of Crime in 2021, it is in the shoes of a lawyer that the specialist in royalty has slipped since 2022 with the series Bellefond .

It was on the occasion of the broadcast, on January 21 on 3, of a new new episode that Stéphane Bern was the guest of Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine in “C à vous”. “Did you expect this success? You who were mocked at the beginning for your first roles…”, asked the presenter. “I still am!” retorted the “animator”. And to continue: “We always make fun of it. I just read the reviews, people say: “Oh for once he’s convincing,” he shared with a smile on his face.

These remarks still left some impression on Stéphane Bern. “How many films do I have to do after a while to justify being an actor?”he said. Babeth Lemoine responded, showing unfailing first degree: “Ah well there are six that have been filmed, there are two in preparation.” Which puts the count at eight, not counting his other productions.

“A lot of humility”

“I should, I think, have all that I have left to live to prove to justify being able to do a bit of comedy. Because hosts who do comedy are always very frowned upon”underlined Stéphane Bern. After being surprised by such an observation, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine began a quick list of personalities holding this dual role. “Even Jean-Pierre Foucault got involved!”

Babeth’s guest then wanted to point out that it was not so much the world of fiction that looked at him askance. “I arrive with a lot of humility. I’m working, basically catching up on all the theater classes I didn’t have when I was young. And so there I have coaches who make me work. […] I’m the first, I learn my text with a straight line. And then I try to live, also to let go a little”he said before detailing his affection for his character: “I adore Bellefond. He’s a character you can get attached to.”
