Behind the scenes of Koh-Lanta, a man embodies the ingenuity of the challenges that punctuate the show. And this man is none other than Yann Le Gac, known to the general public for his role as Father Fouras in the 2 show, Fort Boyard. For years, this talented creator has shaped the trials that put adventurers to the test. During an exclusive interview for Brut, Tuesday January 14, 2025 Denis Brogniart, presenter of Koh Lanta, revealed the secrets of the cult TF1 show that he has hosted for more than two decades. According to him, Yann Le Gac, a septuagenarian with a mind overflowing with imagination, is the man behind emblematic events such as poles or orientation. “He’s an incredible guy,” assured Denis Brogniart, who always dreamed of “writing a novel about this man because his story is so fabulous.”

Before becoming a key figure on television, Yann Le Gac had a career in the world of dance. A circus acrobat in his youth, he joined Maurice Béjart’s prestigious Ballet of the 20th Century in 1975. From La Scala in Milan to the Colón Theater in Buenos Aires, he graced the biggest stages before turning to television production. Among his many creations on the TF1 show, the pole test is undoubtedly the most iconic. His inspiration? An observation of nature. “I readapted them when I saw pelicans in Panama that were perched.
