Melora Hardin credits Michael Landon – who not only starred in the series but also served as executive producer, writer and director – with fostering a “feeling of community” on the film set. “He was so warm”she remembers in the show Still Here Hollywood about the actor, who died in 1991 at the age of 54. “He was so nice. He made all the kids and all the adults, everyone, feel like he really chose them. And he let you do whatever you wanted.”explains Melora Hardin.

“When he gave you instructions, you never felt lectured. He was just lovely.”still tells the actress, who believes that Michael Landon knew “how to talk to children”. After playing Belinda, Melora Hardin returned later in the series to play another character: Michele Pierson. An important role since the young actress played the role of Albert Ingalls’ crush. “I played his crush and, actually, Matthew [Laborteaux] and I had our first on-screen kiss together”recalls the actress, who has since kept very good contact with her former partner. “He is still a very good friend and the godfather of my second daughter”she confides.
