Anne thought she was having a relationship with Brad Pitt: she divorced and was cheated out of 830,000 euros

How is this possible? It all started when she was on a family ski vacation and signed up for Instagram to share their family photos. There, Anne receives a message from the actor’s so-called mother, Jane Etta Pitt. The latter then explains to him that it is a woman like her that his son needs.

“He knew how to talk to women”

Messages that come at the right time, her relationship is struggling with her millionaire entrepreneur husband, 19 years her senior. A loophole that the scammer will exploit. “I had someone in front of me who was interested in me and my work because my own husband wasn’t even interested in my work […] It’s like I live alone.”she says. From harmless exchanges to marriage proposals, words of love or luxury gifts, the scam is set in motion. Starting with… unblocking the luxury package at customs. To do this, Anne must pay more than 5,000 euros. She is doing so thanks to the money she received from her divorce. “I loved the man I spoke with, she confides on TF1. He knew how to talk to women, it was always very well spoken, the words, the poems, I received words of love to the fullest. Everything a woman wanted, I got from that man.”

“It hurt me too much to see that my mother was so naive and that she believed in it wholeheartedly.”

If Anne admits to having doubts, it is the photos and videos generated by AI that end up reassuring her. Until the fake Brad Pitt had to be treated urgently because of kidney cancer. But, inevitably, her accounts are blocked following the divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie… Anne, who is afraid of losing her new love, will end up paying several hundred thousand euros to cover the various operations.

Fake news sequence

How did she end this trap? Seeing the real Brad Pitt, in the company of his real companion, Inès de Ramon. The scammer then sends him a false news sequence (see below), also generated by AI, in which a journalist assures that this romance is false and that the star is actually in a relationship with Anne. Not very credible, the video still allows him to believe it until new photos with Inès appear.

In the end, Anne therefore filed a complaint. Today, she is staying with a friend. She no longer has a roof over her head, had to sell all her furniture and only has 40,000 euros left in savings. Devastated, she was hospitalized in a clinic specializing in severe depression after three suicide attempts. “I wonder why I was chosen to hurt me like this, concludes, in tears, the one who launched a pot on the internet to finance her legal fees. I have never hurt anyone in my life. These people deserve hell. We have to find these crooks.”

For a year, her daughter and law student – with whom she argued – tried to bring her mother to reason. In vain. “She is overexcited at first, she tells herself that this is all new to her, that she has never experienced this […] At first I laughed a little […] I saw it was just for the money […] In fact, she was so caught up in this unreal relationship that our relationship deteriorated. It took up a lot more space, we were just talking about it. It hurt me too much to see that my mother was so naive and that she believed in it wholeheartedly.”
