Anker unveils the new Solix lightweight solar umbrella and the Solix solar cape

Anker introduced the Solix Solar Umbrella and Solix Solar Cloak at CES 2025. The company says the umbrella is the first device of its kind, designed for a trip to the park or beach. The wearable is lightweight thanks to the use of perovskite solar cells.

According to Anker, the Solix Solar Umbrella panels generate 30% more solar energy in bright conditions and are twice as efficient in low light conditions as equivalent silicon technology. Specifically, the accessory supports up to 100W input and offers 100W USB-C and XT-60 outputs. It has a folding mechanism similar to regular umbrellas, making it easier to store and transport. The umbrella is compatible with the recently unveiled EverFrost 2 Electric Cooler, as well as portable powerhouses such as the Solix C300 DC or Solix C800 Plus and Solix C1000 (currently $998 at Amazon).

As for the Anker Solar Cloak, it allows users to wear solar panels while on the move. The cape uses the same perovskite solar cells for up to 30W of power and offers a USB-C port. It’s compatible with the C300 DC portable power bank, with other features like built-in LED strips and a heating wire to keep you warm.

The Anker Solix Solar Umbrella will launch in the US this summer, but pricing has not yet been confirmed. It is not yet known when the Anker Solar Cloak will be available.
