Currently 11th in the Vendée Globe, Clarisse Crémer admitted this weekend to having taken her first shower since November 20.

The face is guilty and the look a bit embarrassed. Engaged in the 2024 Vendée Globe, Clarisse Crémer spoke in a video broadcast this Saturday, January 11. The skipper of L'Occitane en Provence (35 years old) takes the opportunity to make a little confession about her daily life.

“I don’t know if it shows, but I took my first shower today. It was the first time… Be careful, I don’t know if I should say it… since November 20,” concedes Clarisse Crémer facing his camera. “I don't know why. I'm not a dirty person on a daily basis. I take my showers daily. But there, … once I'm dirty, I'm dirty.”

“It feels good”

“I used to do cat toilets once I changed clothes but… I didn’t really feel the need for it… I still took a shower today and it felt good,” concludes the skipper.

In a relationship with Tanguy Le Turquais, also engaged in this non-stop and unassisted world tour, Clarisse Crémer is competing in her second Vendée Globe. As the fleet currently heads up the Atlantic, it is in 11th place in the rankings, just over 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) from the finish.

This 2024 Vendée Globe is still dominated by Charlie Dalin, who sailed this Monday morning off the coast of . The skipper of Macif Santé Prévoyance has widened a gap which seems definitive on his runner-up, Yoann Richomme. He should cross the finish line during the night of this Monday to Tuesday.
