Incarcerated in Bordeaux for involuntary injuries, Pierre Palmade was sentenced to five years in prison, including two years.. Our colleagues from RTL then consulted legal documents, the content of which was revealed this Thursday, January 9, 2025. The judges then indicated that only Pierre Palmade was responsible for the accident which caused “the death of a fetus at an advanced stage of viability” and “irreversible injuries and after-effects to several victims”. According to testimonies, “Pierre Palmade obviously turned the steering wheel to the left” before leaving. He “was aware of the risks he posed”the documents indicate. The judges then indicated that “even if he seems to date to have become aware of the seriousness of the facts and to have stopped all consumption through medical monitoring, his situation appears very fragile in view of his numerous relapses.”

A reason that leads him to prison. Our colleagues from RTL specify having read that “a few months after the accident, while he was under judicial supervision, he again consumed narcotics in a nightclub.” Thus, to avoid a new tragedy, the prison sentence is “the only one capable of repressing his behavior sufficiently effectively, with the exception of any other which would be insufficiently dissuasive”. His prison sentence thus serves to “sanction the author while promoting his reintegration”. (…)
