15 years of “It ends the week well”: a look back at notable moments and some discomfort

To mark 15 years of It’s a good end to the weekJulie Bélanger and Jean-Michel Anctil will move, on Friday, from the interviewers’ chair to that of interviewees and will look back on some “uncomfortable” moments that they have experienced over the years.

In an interview with the QMI Agency, the host of the last 12 seasons notably recalled a completely crazy karaoke with Denis Coderre and the Compagnie Créole as well as the dancing segments with Julie St-Pierre on the decks.

“15 years ago, we had a DJ on our set, and that sometimes led to awkward moments,” she said with a laugh.

«Julie [St-Pierre]she was our first DJ on the show, and she always introduced us to a slightly obscure tune that was no 1 somewhere on the planet. We had to start dancing – that was the wish of our producers – but we just looked tired,” she added with a laugh, emphasizing that this segment amused her a lot today. and that the experience will be repeated this Friday at the very end of the episode, with Julie St-Pierre and Bryan Audet.

During the evening, which will open with Denis Lévesque and Clodine Desrochers, the duo of hosts will receive the comedians Guillaume Pineault, who will gladly mess around, and Christine Morency.

“One of the great prides we have on the show is when we welcome artists who are just starting out [dans le milieu] and then we see them evolve. Christine Morency is one of those artists who I remember from her first appearance on the show. She told us that she was afraid that her career in comedy would not work. Today, it is one of the rockstars humor from Quebec”, underlined the host, who we were able to discover under the skins of Betty Beth, this fall, at Masked singers.

Notable moments

By revisiting the moments that touched her in recent seasons, Julie Bélanger recalled her particularly moving interview with Janette Bertrand and Yvon Deschamps.

“It was a gift to us. We felt so privileged to have them both. It wasn’t an interview, but really a discussion. Yvon Deschamps spoke to us about his childhood and his father, things I had never heard about him,” she confided.

“I also have a memory of Serge Fiori who came to the base for a 20-25 minute interview, as we always do. He sat in our chair for 45 minutes, chatting, because we were tripping. It was a magical moment,” she added.

No follow-up to Imperfectbut other projects on the go

The documentary series Imperfectpublished on Vrai (newly illico+) in 2023, will not see a sequel, confirmed Julie Bélanger, who was the instigator and content producer.

The host is instead working on the development of new television projects which should be structured, once again, in the form of documentaries or docu-realities, for which more details should be revealed in 2025.

“I like to have both hands in the content. I like to develop and create projects. At the moment, we are in the development phase. We will see if it will make it to the screen, but we will definitely have news in 2025,” she shared during her interview.

The duos who animated It’s a good end to the week

  • Isabelle Racicot then piloted the show with a different co-host each week until 2013.
