For almost 20 years now, François Damiens has been one of the most popular actors in French cinema, moving from comedy to drama with disconcerting naturalness. He became known for his hilarious hidden cameras and films like OSS 117: Cairo, nest of spies alongside Jean Dujardin or The Heartbreaker with Romain Duris, he returns with a highly anticipated Franco-Belgian dramatic comedy, The Daughter of a Great Love. The 51-year-old actor plays a homosexual father who will become closer to the mother of his ex-wife, played by Isabelle Carré.
Usually very modest about his private life, the actor who owns a house on the island of Groix was kind enough to confide in the beautiful love story he has been living with Gaëlle for several years. If the two lovebirds have already appeared publicly on a few occasions, during the charity dinner of the Un rien c’est tout association in September 2019 for example. François Damiens makes a point of saying as little as possible about her. However, in an interview given this Wednesday January 8 to FigaroBenoît Poelvoorde’s great friend indulged in some confessions about the woman who shares his life.
François Damiens touched by Gaëlle’s faults
In a relationship for several years, François Damiens talks in particular about the passage of time and the evolution of feelings within the couple. “Life is never black or white. It’s not always obvious. Sometimes it takes work, it requires daily reinvention and then also acceptance of others”explains beforehand the one who made his first appearance with his partner Gaëlle in 2019, before discussing in more detail the one who makes his heart beat: “I am as much in love with my wife for her faults as for her qualities. I am almost more touched by his faults.”
A beautiful statement from François Damiens which should certainly please Gaëlle.
