This Thursday, January 9, 2025, in an Instagram story, Joy Hallyday reacted to the terrible fires ravaging Los Angeles and which destroyed the family home. It was his mother, Laeticia Hallyday who, a little earlier in the day, posted a heartbreaking message to announce the terrible news.

Since January 7, 2025, Los Angeles has been plagued by deadly fires which have already killed five people. In total, 100,000 people had to leave their homes and new fires broke out. The center of Hollywood was evacuated due to a nearby fire and entire neighborhoods went up in smoke, such as Pacific Palisades, the neighborhood of the stars. This Thursday, January 9, 2025, on Instagram, Laeticia Hallyday announced that she had lost her house. “I saw our house go to ashes, helpless in the face of the flames which took everything away (…) It was not just a house… It was our refuge, our rebirth after the chaos of mourning. It is between these walls that we healed our wounds, that we learned to live with absence, to rebuild days lit by love despite the shadow of loss (…) She helped us to to get up again, to rebuild ourselves after the unimaginable absence of my husband“, she posted in the caption of an apocalyptic video.

Joy Hallyday, one of his daughters, was quick to react to the tragedy. In an Instagram story, she posted the following message: “My heart sinks as I write these lines. The village and my house have disappeared. Sending love, thoughts and prayers to everyone. Stay safe“.
