There are ten celebrities who have agreed to experience an extraordinary adventure: participating in the show « The Island » on M6 and try to survive for ten days on an island in Thailand nicknamed “L’Île du Bagne” thanks to the advice of adventurer Loury Lag, new presenter of the program.

In the first episode, broadcast this Tuesday, January 7 on M6, everyone confided in the preamble their motivations for taking up this challenge to the host. The second-hand dealer Julien Cohen, seen in “Affaire concluded” on France 2, explained that he had come “get hurt” because he believes he lives in exceptional comfort. Influencer Daniela Capone hopes to be able to surpass herself and find her identity. Model and actor Terence Telle wants to move away from the superficial side of his profession and hopes “a reconnection with nature” et “a little more primitive values”.

Triple ankle fracture for Carine Galli

The presenter of “The Island” also asked Cute Roosters if she felt ready for this challenge. A question to which she answered frankly. “No, because I don’t know if we can be ready for such an adventure. In any case, I don’t necessarily realize what will happen to us. I think we will inevitably be different after ten days so I can’t wait to emerge different and grown from this adventure”she explained.

But, unfortunately, the sports journalist ultimately did not have the opportunity to live this unusual experience. While the candidates were expected to go to the famous Island, the latter was missing. “I missed a stepshe explains to the camera. I fell, I fell to the ground and obviously I hurt my right ankle which turned.”. She is then discovered with her leg bandaged, explaining that her wound was blue and swollen. “Everything that’s happening is driving me crazy. I tell myself that it’s not possible that it could happen there on a shitty step. I didn’t do all this to end this shit. »

Loury Lag then told her that she could not participate in the adventure in this state. “Actually, I think that whatever happens, we won’t risk sending you there. the terrain is too dangerous, too steep, too risky for a hurting ankle, I don’t think it’s a good idea”he announced. And he did well because according to the x-ray carried out, Carine Galli is the victim of a triple ankle fracture.

She is not the only adventurer on the show to have been injured from the start of the program. While the adventure on the Island was launched for the nine other personalities, one of them also faced an unpleasant surprise. While he was bathing in the transparent waters of the Island to unwind after building a cabin, Patrick Puydebat was stung by a stingray hidden in the sand. His stinger pierced his foot, causing the actor from “Mysteries of Love” to suffer terribly.

At the start of the program, he explained the reasons which pushed him to do the show: “I have a lot to learn about myself and chance works out well because I have had some very difficult times recently, and I needed to take a step back, to unwind, to take stock and to clear my head and the context is perfect for that”.

After coming out of the water, Patrick Puydebat was examined by the adventure doctor, present with the candidates. “It’s extremely painful, he’s in peak pain. We’re repatriating him, he can’t stay like that, it’s not possible”explained the professional to the other adventurers. The actor recounted the facts. “When I got out of the water, I felt like a stab in the foot”he said. To prevent complications, he was taken away by emergency services and was therefore forced to abandon the adventure.

Terence Tell exfiltrated from “The Island”

During the remainder of the episode, a third contestant was injured. Model Terence Tell, who was walking barefoot, cut open his toe with a piece of wood. The doctor came to treat him, causing him extreme pain. Emergency medical personnel were then called. The choice was then made to exfiltrate him because of his injury to avoid any risk of infection. “In an adventure like this, you mainly need to walk so if you are disabled in one foot, it can become very problematic for the rest of the adventure. Of course, leaving on day 2 is frustrating. Afterwards, it’s for health reasons…”declared the young man.

But, luckily, Terence Tell was able to surprise his teammates by returning to the camp after 48 hours of rest thanks to the healing of his foot injury. “I missed you a lot, I felt very alone, I thought about you a lot. I am very happy to be back among you”he explained.
