Known for being the French voice of actor Morgan Freeman, he had dubbed countless characters. “It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Benoit Allemane, which occurred last night”announced his wife and children on his Facebook page. “After many battles won in recent years, it was time for him to close his masterpiece. We will quickly keep you informed regarding his funeral”.
Benoît Allemane began his career as an actor at the age of 16 on the stage before moving into dubbing. Having become a key figure in this discipline, he has lent his voice to the American actor Morgan Freeman since 1991 in The Escapees, Seven or even Lucy. But also to Brendan Gleeson, Danny Glover, Gene Hackman, James Earl Jones, Christopher Lloyd and Ian McKellen.
Without forgetting the countless animated characters. He was Baloo in Super Baloo, The Jungle Book, childhood memories et The Jungle Book: Groove Party or even Babar in The Adventures of Babar. His voice, as deep as it was reassuring, also allowed him to regularly overtake Santa Claus.
