For James Denton, who participated in the last season of Dancing with the stars in France, being shot in Desperate Housewives was “very fun”. “It’s always fun to have thrills in front of the camera”continued the actor before discussing behind the scenes of the filming of this scene which marked the fans, inconsolable after this episode: “You have a tube going up one leg that sends blood to your chest, and you have a wire going down the other leg. A guy is in the bushes with a detonator to trigger the blast.”
Desperate Housewives : James Denton discusses a heartbreaking scene to play
While he revealed that the producer of the series, Marc Cherry, had asked his opinion before killing Mike, James Denton confided that playing this scene, as funny as it was, had also been heartbreaking, especially because of Teri Hatcher who played Susan. “Teri was so brilliant in that scene. […] She was sobbing uncontrollably. […] And it was so hard for me not to break down and cry because she was so heartbreaking.”he revealed. Mike’s death was a very important moment in the series and James Denton indicated that it was “very happy”. The fans, less so, since they still approach him to confide their sadness at the sudden death of his character.
