This film, where he plays Urbain Donnadieu, a character obsessed with gold, left its mark and remains a cult comedy decades after its release.

He told me things about Italian cinema that I loved… extraordinary.” The member of Splendid also shared a tasty anecdote about this colorful character: “Very little guy, he refused to eat lunch because he didn’t like French foodhe only liked Italian food. Always in a bad mood. Extraordinarily funny, a great cinematographer. The operator of Once Upon a Time in the West. It’s not just anyone. It’s this Italian taste, this Italian cinema, which was the greatest in the world.”

For his part, Baptiste Lecaplain, who shares the poster with Christian Clavier in Never without my therapistspoke about their collaboration during the show The Original Soundtrack. He spoke of the actor’s high standards, while praising his professionalism: “Christian, he hates imprecise actors.” To prepare, Baptiste Lecaplain worked with Jérôme Andréi, coach of Christian Clavier for years: “He called me and said: ‘Christian knows everything from A to Z even before shooting, everyone’s lines. Since you have a lot of scenes together, it would be good if we prepared that.'” Despite this rigor, Baptiste Lecaplain keeps positive memories of this experience: “He’s a gentleman (Christian Clavier, editor’s note) incredibly kind.”
