Patrick Sabatier decided to flourish in writing. Guest at Teleprothe former host confides in his career and reveals the name of the show that he did not want to do, even though he was successful with it.
Patrick Sabatier is talking about him again. Not for a new show, but for the release of his book, Don’t tell Paulpublished by Rocher. Following on from his previous book, The Letter, the host dives back into his childhood memories, with his group of friends, who followed his journey through television. He made his debut on Europe 1 at the end of the 70s and very quickly made a name for himself on the radio. It was only in 1976 that he tried his hand at television by presenting Wednesday visitors on TF1. In 1987, he made a short appearance on La Cinq, before returning to his favorite channel with his show Wanted notice. After crossing the desert in the 90s, the host returns in force to France 2, with his show Password.

The entertainment director at the time told me: ‘but I don’t want a games host, I want someone who will bring some humanity into the game. So that’s why I ‘I chose’confides the host. The success is such that Patrick Sabatier finally hosted the program for 9 years. “I did it without thinking that it was a game. I was playing myself, because we don’t have the answers, that’s the rule of the game. There was a gang, as is often the case in France 2, famous people, recurring ones and we got along very well, honestly, I had fun.”confides the host.

“After nine years, I said I had to pass”confides Patrick Sabatier. Over the years, the host has gradually deserted the media sphere. As to whether he could host a show again, Patrick Sabatier is clear: no. “I was extremely spoiled. I made Wanted poster, The game of truth, Lucky charm, All in the news… I had the chance to meet millions of viewers. It takes a lot of energy to do radio and television. I still have some, but I want to devote a lot of time to my family, to my children, to my grandchildren.”he concludes.
