Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have broken with many traditions by stepping away from the English royal family. But they also keep a few, including the one from the greeting card. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just revealed theirs, a few weeks after Charles and Camilla did the same. And they are very different!
Rare photo of Lilibet and Archie on Meghan and Harry’s greeting card
The couple are parents of two children named Archie (5 and a half years old) and Lilibet (3 and a half years old), of whom they have only shared rare photos. By leaving their royal duties, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle particularly wanted to be able to allow their offspring to grow up discreetly. However, they decided to make an exception by including a photo of themselves in their greeting card, which was relayed in the press and on social networks.
This, on a green background, presents six images: three of the duchess and the duke during engagements, two of the couple, and one of the entire family. The two children run towards their parents, surrounded by their three dogs, who hold out their arms to them and smile. If they decided to share a photo of Archie and Lilibet, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still wanted not to expose them too much, and they therefore appear from behind.
Meghan and Harry’s greeting card contrasts with those of the royal family
Harry and Meghan chose to create a greeting card that was far removed from those of working royals. Firstly, there is the fact that they chose to make a montage of several photos instead of sharing just one portrait, while the king and queen kept this habit this year. They also sent their wishes in their names but also in those of their foundation and their production company. Finally, the message changes, to be more inclusive: they are not talking about Christmas but the holidays. “We wish you a happy holiday season and a happy new year”we can read.
