the essential
Members of the Photo-Club de Gascogne have just gathered to take stock of the Phot’Art show in Fleurance.
The first Fleurance Photographic Meetings took place on the first weekend of December and 800 visitors came to visit this show. Some outside photographers contacted seemed hesitant but the doubts have been resolved and they will come with confidence for the next edition next year. There were 50 photographers on display, including 20 members of the Photo-Club and 30 from outside, some coming from Bordeaux, Brittany, Hérault, Toulouse…
The organizers paid particular attention to the opening with a buffet and musical accompaniment with the brand new Florantine group Joyeux Hasard (made up of Aurélie Lacomme, Thierry Elissagaray and Ludovic Soro), after the usual speeches.
There was also a tribute to Pierre Bès, who recently died. “Pierrot”, as they called him, was one of the founders of the Photo-Club with his father-in-law Mr. Oriach and Doctor Laurentie. He was the number 1 of the club, they say affectionately, he was treasurer almost until the end. He had a passion for photography but also for the mountains where he had a chalet, mushrooms… The Photo-Club was then a big family of friends, the atmosphere there was different. He worked at Castel et Fromaget and was part of the walkers’ club.
One year of preparation
A year of preparation, two days of installation, two days of exhibition and a welcoming committee with four hostesses visible under their fuchsia berets were necessary for this show to take place. There were also many exchanges, testimonials and grateful messages regarding the quality of the show. “The photos presented are admirable, very varied”, everyone found something to their liking. And for those who follow the work of the Photo-Club, it was an opportunity to better discover the photographers, what they like, outside the usual constraint of the theme chosen for the month or for their exhibitions. Each person’s own universe is revealed on this occasion, allowing sensitivities to be expressed.
The raffle allowed around twenty visitors to be rewarded with a photo print. The club thanked the municipality and the technical services for making the room available and all the partners.
