The Timothée Chalamet lookalike competition took an unexpected turn when the American star himself went there to take part. So much so that the organizer was punished for holding a public event without permission. But a nice gesture from the actor should quickly console him.
Kind to the end. On October 27, hundreds of people dressed as Timothée Chalamet took over Washington Square (New York), to participate in the lookalike competition organized by a fan of the actor. Timothée Chalamet himself took part. The public gathering then took such a turn that the influencer in charge of the organization, called Po, was fined $500 for hosting a public demonstration without prior permit.
The police even intervened to disperse the various lookalikes and empty Washington Square (New York). The YouTuber spoke afterwards to say that Timothée Chalamet, through his team, contacted Po to “offer to pay the fine, which is very funny.” Po, who was insured by the Partiful application, in charge of bringing together the various participants, refused the actor's gesture and did not have to pay this fine himself.
A very trendy practice
Through his entourage, Chalamet warmly thanked Po for organizing this event: “they told me they thought it was great. They thanked me. It was very cool and fun.”
The height of the competition: the organizer of the event was unable to meet Timothée Chalamet himself and the actor did not win the prize for best lookalike… for himself. So many oddities that the videographer evokes: “I think if he had stayed until the end… I would have given him second place, or something like that.”
This type of happening is an increasingly common practice, which allows fans of different personalities to meet and share their passion. Paul Mescal, for example, imitated him by joining a meeting of his lookalikes in Ireland.
