Famous host of the small screen, Daniela Lumbroso was the guest of Buzz TV this Tuesday, November 19, 2024. On this occasion, she looked back on her beginnings, she who now has her own production company. But over the past ten years, the presenter has clearly stopped appearing on television.
And the reason is quite disturbing: “At the start, it wasn't a choice at all. It’s because at the time, before MeToo, we found that a woman after a certain age could no longer do television”she says, before being cut off by the journalist who asks her: “After what age?”

To which the producer responds: “I remember one time when I got yelled at by my producer because I had just turned 42, I had a dress that reached my knees and he told me: 'But stop, now you're 42, you can't wear a dress'”,
she said with an embarrassed laugh.
“And at 50, that was really the extreme limit.”
Daniela Lumbroso says she is happy to have seen things change. “Women can have the same careers as men”.
“Music is my country”
Full of projects, it was she who produced The oriental song festivalin October behind. “Music is my country, it’s my land, (…) and I’m a bit of an uprooted person. My music has lots of influences, firstly oriental since I was born in Tunisia, then opera since my parents are Italian, percussion since I grew up in Ivory Coast, and I would end with French song”she confided.
Moreover, a festival will see the light of day: “We are going to make great French songs, of heritage, but which we are going to revisit with three orchestras: a symphonic, an Oriental and a pop”. For Daniela Lumbroso, the song has always been very important: “It was what allowed me to become fully French. That is to say that I arrived in France, I did not speak a word of French, I only spoke Italian (…), it was difficult for me to integrate into this country where I didn't really have the culture. French song was my gateway, I often say that it saved my life in a certain way”.
