Koh Lanta is a grueling adventure. For more than a month, the participants' mission is to survive in the wilderness on the other side of the world – in the Philippines for The Cursed Tribeseason currently broadcast – with the strictest possible comfort. And that's not all, they must compete in comfort games and immunity tests, the goal being to go to the end and above all not to be eliminated. Living in such conditions for several weeks disrupts daily life. So, inevitably, on the way back, some are completely upset on the way back… This is what Cécile, an adventurer eliminated at the gates of the posts, tells Purepeople.
The return to reality can be tough: going from a calm island to hustle and bustle is complicated. “I don't live in the city but in the countryside in a small village“, specifies Cécile who has just Pusey, town located in Haute-Saône. So no big disturbance… Well, almost: “One great thing is that before the game, I constantly slept with earplugs because I'm super sensitive. At the slightest noise, I have the brain starts up and I don't sleep anymore Since I came back from the adventure, no more earplugs And that was great!“A major change in Cécile’s daily life, which she describes as “anecdotal“.
Koh-Lanta 2024: Complicated relationship with food for the adventurer, “like an animal rushing”
Beyond this novelty, this 41-year-old pilates teacher reveals that she had food urges after her adventure. “Afterwards, when it comes to food, in the days that follow, we feel like an animal that rushes and eats everything that comes to hand. We want to eat everything, filling our throats with it. And there is a return to normal later“, she confides. Aside from these temporary disturbances, Cécile believes that “nothing has changed in [sa] life since returning from adventure“. “I myself don't feel changed, I'm the same Cécile who experienced something extraordinary“, she concludes.
